10 Gifts for Painters

You’re drawing a blank in the gift department, your creative friend or sister or mom would love something to spark her artistic gift, but you have no idea what to buy. Don’t worry, I’ve got a list of 10 things the artist in your life is sure to love.

1. Artist Apron

Keep her clothes clean as she makes a beautiful mess with this customizable apron! You can add her name or business if she has one. It’s thoughtful and unique, there is no way she already has one just like it.

2. Paintbrushes

You can’t go wrong with some of her favorite brushes. Brushes don’t last a lifetime, so she can always use more. Take a sneak peek at what she uses currently, does she love them? Then get her more! Is she still using a pack of beginner brushes from the Target art aisle? Then get her an upgrade. But, remember there are different brushes for different mediums, make sure you know what she paints.

3. Paint

Groundbreaking, I know. You can never have too many colors or too much paint. It’s an artistic fact. Look at what she uses, looks to see if she is missing any colors or if she is running low. You can't go wrong with white, black, or any of the primary colors. Again, make sure you know what medium she paints with, watercolor, acrylic or even gouache.

4. Water Cups

Did you know if you paint with watercolor you actually need two water cups? That’s why I love this compact set, perfect for a desk. Get her to stop using her coffee cups!

5. Books for Artists

Here are three of my favorites, check out the descriptions at the links to see if your friend would be as inspired as I was when I read them.

6. Art Classes

If your artist is just starting out or is learning new techniques then a subscription to Skillshare is a great opportunity. They have so many different tutorials for all kinds of art, she is sure to find something!!

If you’re looking for watercolor specific, I have to recommend my friend Jessica of Simply Jessica Marie and her watercolor classes.

7. Travel Paintbrush Bag

Maybe she likes to head outside when the weather is nice to paint, or she brings her art supplies with her on vacation. Either way, this travel brush bag is cute and functional with plenty of room for her brushes and more!

8. Painter Water Cup with Straw

Water, coffee, a mixed cocktail, whatever your artist is drinking, make sure it’s on-brand with this Tumblr. She’ll feel so legit walking around town with this, she may even get some inquiries.

9. Inspirational Art from Other Artists

All artists love other art, it’s likely how they got into art in the first place. Finding a piece that you think she’ll love is such a sweet way to express that you know she not only loves to make art but also appreciate it.

10. Memberships for Artists

Lastly, if the artist in your life is looking for some artistic friends she can talk shop with any time she wants, a membership is such a great gift. These are a few of my favorites, you just have to get them when they open up and welcome new members. Usually, you can sign up to be notified when that is.

Gift-giving makes me so happy, but sometimes it can be a struggle to find the perfect fit. You can’t go wrong with any of these things! The artist in your life is sure to love it and appreciate the thought you put into their gift.

xx Kristen

Powersheet Party: October Recap & November Goals

November 08, 2019

My box of happy came in the mail a few weeks ago, with my NEW 2020 Powersheets and a few other goodies. It’s taken a lot for me not to crack them open and start planning for the new year, but I know I still have work to be done here in 2019.

Truly, I’m starting this blog post series to hold myself more accountable. I don’t think I have used the Powersheets quite as effectively in 2019 as I would have liked. I’m hoping putting them here motivates me to get more done, to be more honest and to encourage you to set goals as well. Now, let’s get to it!
